Day 3 of Juicing

My breakfast this morning. Kale, Celery, Apples, Lemon, Ginger, Cucumber, Carrots= yum :)
It is the third day since I purchased a juicer with the intention of incorporating juicing into my diet. Well, I must say that it has been great because I knew that in order for it to be successful, it had to fit into my lifestyle.

What I do now is just have a glass a juice for breakfast and then eat a regular (portion-controlled) lunch and dinner. This way, I'm still getting in my freggies  without compromising my sanity. Maybe one day, I will do a full blown fast, but for now, this works. And guess what, the recipes are not half bad (even the ones with kale and stuff).

What do you think? Do you have to do a "juice fast" in order to get the benefits of juicing?

  1. I am going to get a juicer in two weeks. I think juicing in the morning to get the day started is what I'm going to do as well and if I drink more and have smoothies as well then it's an added bonus. I think after seeing the documentary Sick,Fat, and Dying its really tempting to want to go all in, but for me it will lead to burnout. Also it seems like people with major health issues do the rebooting. So I guess if I start adding juicing and comsistently eat healthier foods then I can avoid the need to fast unless I want to.

    1. Nadia, I absolutely agree with you. The documentary was really inspirational and brings out that thing in us that makes us want to challenge ourselves. But thinking about a healthy lifestyle as a journey and not a destination makes me realize that there is no hurry to loose 10 pounds in a week only to gain it back. So, you will enjoy having a juicer but everythingin moderation.

I LOVE comments so please leave one. It is so nice to see and I will reply to ya!
